Wow, we’re seriously loving the retro cool California vibe of the Sol Collection by Oliver Bonas. Comprising of the coolest, funkiest ceramic cafetière, matching espresso cups and saucers, and a cute teapot again with matching cups and saucers, this collection features tropical prints, an optimistic yet nostalgic colour palette and a cool Californian feel. Just what you need to bring some much-needed escapism into your kitchen.

The inspiration

Back in summer 2019, the Oliver Bonas homeware design team travelled to LA to gather ideas for their latest designs. They visited galleries, boutiques and the famous Rose Bowl market, talking to different people to learn about laidback Californian life.

A road trip to Palm Springs and The Joshua Tree National Park ignited their inspiration. “We drove there at sunset and experienced all the incredible colour changes of the landscape as the sun went down” says Oliver Bonas’ homeware print designer, Emily. “It was such a peaceful moment”.

The prints

In a warm colour palette with optimistic yet nostalgic shades, “the prints in the collection capture the natural, dreamlike beauty that we experienced in LA” says Emily. “We chose motifs that reflect the comforting warmth of a sunset – the sun and it rays against an organic landscape of palm trees, the desert, its plants and animals”.

Sol Ceramic cafetière

Sip away to sunshine on your coffee break with the Sol Ceramic Cafetière, with a palm tree design in green and amber hues contrasted against a sky blue background.

Offset with a yellow decal sun, this cafetière is finished with shiny gold accents, and is boxed, ideal for gifting.

Sol Ceramic Espresso Cups & Saucers

The perfect complement to the cafetiere these Sol Ceramic Espresso Cups & Saucers are decorated with vibrant palm tree and leopard designs.

With matching round saucers, this set of four is finished with gold circular handles. Again, these are boxed and make the ideal gift.
